Conducting a Business Continuity Analysis is the second step in developing a business continuity program that can be certified by BS 25999 parts 1 and 2. The objective of this step is to evaluate the critical operations for the organization and then determine the resources needed to run them. 

The aim of this element of the BCM Lifecycle is to assist the understanding of the organization through identification of its key products and services and the critical activities and resources that support them. This element ensures that the BCM program is aligned to the organization’s objectives, obligations, and statutory duties according to BS 25999 Parts 1 and 2 as well as Professional Practice 3.

Conducting the Risk Assessment is the third step in developing a business continuity program that can be certified by BS 25999 parts 1 and 2.

This course introduces the concepts of Risk Management and with the methodologies and models used in the Business Continuity Management profession, by providing an understanding of what a risk assessment is all about, why a risk assessment is important to a business continuity program, the elements of a risk assessment, and how these are utilized to build a business continuity program.

The aim of this element of the BCM Lifecycle is to assist the understanding of the organization through identification of existing risks and threats to which the organization is exposed.

Developing Strategies to Protect the Organization: CS IL BCM 2020
Developing Strategies is the next step in developing a business continuity program that can be certified by BS 25999 parts 1 and 2 and is Module 2 in the Essentials of Business Continuity Management series. 

This course introduces the student to the challenges of selecting the appropriate strategies for the recovery of business processes, critical functions, operations and the supporting information technologies within the specified recovery time objective. 

Developing Strategies reviews the three main categories for BCM strategy development: organization-wide strategies, process level strategies, and resource recovery strategies and defines alternative strategies, assesses the strengths and weaknesses of strategies and methodologies for presentation to management.

In order to develop the actual plan documents the organization will need to decide on the approach, methodology and the plan document structure. The plan documents should meet the needs of the organization and the personnel who will be using it. 

This course also outlines the roles and responsibilities of the members of the organization in order to develop a BCM response.

Writing the Incident Response Plan is an important element in Module 3 Developing a BCM Response that can be certified by BS 25999 parts 1 and 2. It is part of the Essentials of Business Continuity Management series. 

The objective of this step of BCM program development is to develop and implement procedures for response to and stabilization of the situation following an incident or event, including life safety procedures, establishing and managing an Emergency Operations Center and local command centers during the crisis, and developing escalation and notification procedures.

Planning for the Communications Crisis is a one-day instructor-led workshop that provides a documented framework to enable an organization to manage any crisis event regardless of cause (including those where no Business Continuity response is appropriate such as a threat to reputation). 

The crisis communications plan and plan auditing tools are included as part of the crisis management plan. Planning for the Communications Crisis is part of the Essentials of Business Continuity Management series as well as the Crisis Management and Communications discipline. The audience for this course are those whose responsibilities include business continuity planning and / or crisis management and communications planning.
